YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Senior Supply Chain Manager is responsible for overseeing Materials Management, Purchasing, Logistics, Production Planning, and Scheduling for the Modular Power Solutions operation.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Independently manage and control all external suppliers, focusing on the purchase of materials, finished parts, engineered equipment, and customer supplied material for assembly operations.

  • Collaborate with the supply base to autonomously implement supplier-managed inventory and material quality programs.

  • Ensure parts and materials are procured at the most competitive price and delivered on time to meet assembly schedules and customer requirements.

  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers to enhance material quality and reduce cost, utilizing the Uniform Commercial Code in contract negotiations.

  • Develop and implement the Purchasing function and its methodology, establishing policies and procedures to optimize supply chain.

  • Plan and prepare master schedules that align with shipping dates according to sales forecasts and customer orders

  • Develop/implement assembly operations scheduling tools such as Pull systems, Kanban, etc.

  • Lead Supply Chain-related problem-solving efforts by conferring with Plant Management, Supervisors, and Project Managers to determine status of projects and operational issues.

  • Exhibits strong Leadership Skills by developing and maintaining employee development plans, conducting performance reviews, and creating succession plans for team.

  • Demonstrates expertise in ERP / MRP, preferably in an Oracle environment.

  • Determine methods and equipment usage for handling, storing, maintaining, and shipping.

  • Schedule finished goods transportation, control transportation costs and ensure on-time delivery to the customers.

  • Establish and maintain procedures to meet company and customer receipt and delivery commitments, including handling materials, providing labor, and effective use of time.

  • Support and execute all Supply Chain Initiatives in support of overall Supply Chain strategic direction.

  • The duties and responsibilities described are intended to outline the general nature and scope of work being performed. Additional duties will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.

WHAT YOU BRING TO US:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management or a technical discipline

  • CPIM Certifications

  • 12-15 years of previous supply chain management experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment is required.

  • Can be a combination of education, training and relevant experience

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:

  • Proven experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple locations and customers is preferred

  • Excellent analytical, leadership, problem-solving and communications skills

  • Strong collaborative interpersonal and negotiating skills to serve as a liaison between the Program Management Office, plant management, suppliers and engineering personnel

  • Experience with Lean Manufacturing disciplines

  • Ability to create and implement supply chain processes and systems, and drive process improvement

  • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary

  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude

  • Effective oral and written communication skills as required for the position

  • Self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player

  • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, and others

TRAVEL:

  • 10% to 20%

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning

  • Noise level is usually low to medium

  • Occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.
